XGZ have received some very mysterious and interesting files today. They arrived with no return address, or indication of origin; the only visible clue being a small note with the URL:

www.warmongersinc.net

Many of our readers will remember the URL from our coverage of the cryptic tweets we spotted nearly a month ago from Community Developer Antoine Emond. As we previously reported, the site has a series of “leaked files”, which mostly point to Mexican cartel activities and Russian involvement. As many of you will remember, both the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter titles were situated in Mexico. Maybe these will link to Future Soldier in some way.

Of course, if we are to go with the above assumption, then that would mean that Ubisoft has kicked off its viral marketing campaign of Ghost recon Future Soldier in a pretty big way. From what we know of the Future Soldier plot, ultra nationalists have staged a successful coup in Russia, and are in the process of invading neighbouring countries. A lot of the leaked files on the site relate to surveillance reports and intelligence focused around Russian assets, holdings, and a Person of Interest codenamed “GRIGORI”

The files we’ve been sent contain the most recent Surveillance Report and photos on Grigori. The report details his meeting with two Zambian officials at the Zambian High Commission, with intelligence suggesting that the meeting was to further talks and negotiations to allow Russian investors enter Zambia’s fuel supply and mining market. This information would tie in perfectly with the leaked files on Warmongersinc.net, which feature prominently, photos of Zambian mining plants and compounds. Stretching further, the leaked files could serve as pointers for the possible locations that players will get to visit in the Future Soldier campaign.

Check out the files below (click each to enlarge) and let us know what you think in the comments.

I like these type of stories. An advertising campaign such as this keeps people very interested in the build up to launch.
