Ara Giles

Name meaning: “Eagle Maiden”

Age: 28 (in 2016 A.D.)

Birth date: March 20th, 1988

Physical description: Caucasian, redhead, hazel eyes, medium height.

Facts: Born of unknown mother, given for adoption. Impulsive behavior. Interested in the unknown. Owner of a blog about conspiracy theories & history.

Abilities: Eagle Vision.

Background: Adopted right after her birth, she lived a normal life with her family until she turned 24. From the age of 22 she kept a blog about conspiracy theories & history. At 24, while taking a trip alone in Tuscany to research a story, she posted an entry about her whereabouts and a discovery which she had made while studying some of Leonardo da Vinci’s published notebooks regarding the Assassins & Templars.

One night, during this trip, she was attacked by Templar agents in her hotel room. In the middle of the attack she experienced a blackout and fainted. She was rescued by Shaun Hastings, who was monitoring her blog since the beginning.

She was brought into the Assassin hideout and started living with them in Montereggioni in Ezio’s Villa. Shaun insisted upon Ara going through an Animus session which resulted in the discovery that she was Claudia Auditore’s descendant and a relative of Desmond Miles, and her “blackout” during the attack at the hotel was the beginning of her Eagle Vision manifesting in the face of danger. For a few years she had serious issues adjusting to the new life, while also being regarded as a Templar bait.

In 2016 she left for a mission in Turkey (Taurus Mountains) together with two other assassins after discovering that Leonardo da Vinci’s letters and prophecies revealed a hidden secret; they showed a forgotten, concealed location for something that is of high interest in the war between the Assassins and Templars.

Not sure about the winners, I know about people that in these days of competition made lots and lots of researches to come up with something good that could fit with historical backgrounds (me too) and who won? Known people with way too simplistic stories that seems like previews of crappy fanfictions (you could just go and read some of them then, you know? Oh, and the most ‘original’ was James Morgan’s one). I’m not condemning the three winners, I’m happy for them because they partecipated like the others, but surely I’m condemning you judges. I’m not gonna complain any longer, just stay assured that I’ll never partecipate in your piloted competitions again.
