Activision is reported to have reached a settlement of its case against rival, Electronic Arts, over the Zampella/West/Infinity Ward lawsuit. The news came via Activision’s lawyer, Beth Wilkinson yesterday after a hearing in LA’s Superior Court.
“Activision and Electronic Arts have decided to put this matter behind them,”
No further details were given, and the terms of the settlement are unknown at this time. The settlement does however remove EA from the dispute between Activision and former IW studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella, which dates back to 2010. Both West and Zampella were sacke for “insurbodination”. Both men claim Activision strung them along with false promises of royalties and creative control so that they would complete Modern Warfare 2. It was at this point that Activision accused EA of trying to poach the two devs while they still had time left on their contracts.
The case between Zampella/West and Activision will still go to court as planned later this month.
