Rules of The Battle of the Sexes

‘THE’ Rule: This event is for the Fun and Enjoyment of ALL taking part. As such you may very well find yourself playing a combination of games and gametypes which are alien to you, embrace this and enjoy the event along with your fellow entrants.

Match Rules:

ALL matches will (where appropriate) be played on a win, lose or draw basis.

ALL matches (where appropriate) will be based on an 8 map rule. Each team will have control over 4 maps, gametype choices within those 8.

For Example: Match: Halo 2, Team A has first map choice. They can choose the map location, the game type and even any restrictions they wish to add. As a result they chose to play Oddball, pistols only on Midship. Map 2 and its Team B’s choice so they choose Team Slayer, no restrictions on Lockout. And so this continues until both teams have selected 4 games each with a total 8 played.

When it is YOUR team’s choice you have total control over the game. The only limit to this is the options you choose MUST be available within the server settings. You cannot select a game setting which cannot be restricted through the games server.

Attack/ Defend Gametypes: When a team chooses a gametype which requires an attack and defence i.e. GR: Siege, R6 Attack & Defend etc the gametype choice will take 2 of the team’s total 4 choices. For example you select Siege on GRAW2; you pick map and weapon restrictions and attack and defend the map each way, this count’s as 2 maps because each attack and defend = one game each, if you choose siege twice that will use all 4 of your teams’ choices i.e. if both teams select siege the whole match would include 4 maps each played both ways with a total 8 points value

Scoring: Each ‘map’ won equals one point; each match will run to 8 maps with a total 8 points available to win. The match will end once all 8 have been played regardless of win, lose or draw.

Points earned and lost during the match will be recorded however the match will be worth points based on the win, lose or draw as follows….

Win = 3 Points

Lose = 0 Points

Draw = 1 Point

Where a game is not based on map play i.e. Texas Hold ‘em rules will be pre set by XboxGameZone admin based on our normal tournament rules. This information will be made available as required during the event, if in doubt please feel free to contact This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

Hosting:

As each match is arranged details of who will play what and when will be listed within the match schedule. All players will be listed for the match on both teams but the game host will be listed in Bold Red print.

The Host will be responsible for setting up the server, inviting those players listed to play, validating which players took part and recording scores.

Your responsibility is to ensure you send a friends request or text message to the game host in plenty of time for the match so they can invite you into the server. Failure to do so will result in you missing your match, and if you don’t play you’re not counted for the draw.

Substitutes:

As with any match play it is possible a player may fail to show. However unlike normal matches the teams taking part are not registered clans and as such normal ‘rules’ don’t apply. As such in the event of a no show…..

Option One: The host or other players within the server are free to invite a player from their friends list to take their place.  The only rule of course is that the player must be of the correct sex orientation for that team.

NOTE: The substitute player can only be placed into the prize draw if they are a registered member of XboxGameZone. They can register after the match and be counted so long as they register before midnight Friday 14th September

Option Two: In the event a player from both sides fails to show and both teams remain equal in size you can play as normal

Non UK Residents

Whilst this event is primarily for the UK community we welcome gamers from beyond our shores. Players should however remember that all matches detailed in the match schedule will be listed under the UK time zones.
