XboxGameZone is a UK based gaming community bringing our users all the latest in features, news and review’s however our primary focus is that of our tournaments and events. Our community is important to us and enjoys an environment where all are welcome regardless of age, gender or skill level. XboxGameZone is a member of the XCN (Xbox Community Network) allowing us to provide you with even more great content including exclusive news and interviews. We enjoy close links with the gaming industry whilst maintaining our independence and impartiality allowing us to provide you with the best in events, competitions and content. XboxGameZone opened its doors to the world for the first time in August 2004, at first no more than a forum the community soon grew and in December 2004 the main site was launched. Soon after our position as a community based site was officially acknowledged as Microsoft invited us to join the XCN. In 2005 we celebrated our first birthday with a bang hosting the UK’s first ever girl vs. boy tournament ‘The Battle of the Sexes’. The event which took place across the August bank holiday weekend was a huge success seeing hundreds of gamers from across the UK playing in excess of 25 matches. ‘The Battle of the Sexes’ which enjoyed support from Xbox, Ubisoft, 2K Games and the P.M.S Clan was covered by online media and later featured in OXM. It was at this time XboxGameZone underwent some cosmetic surgery and version two of the main site was born providing even more in the way of features and functionality to our users. In the time since XboxGameZone has continued to grow but our main aims and core believes remain the same…. to provide a welcoming community, one you can be proud to call home, one which provides you with tournaments you can enjoy; while competitive they are more importantly Fun! We welcome gamers of all ages young and old and all skill levels, there’s no such thing as a ‘noobie’ here, we all had to start somewhere and you can be assured of a big welcome whether you’re an old hand or a gaming virgin. Contrary to popular belief trash talk and gaming do not come hand in hand and that’s one thing you won’t find here, if trash talk is your kind of thing you’re in the wrong place. As you can see community is important to us, to ensure the continued growth of the Xbox community as a whole we work closely with many sites in the wider community and are very proud of our XCN membership. Our events are regularly featured in various print and online media including Xbox.com, OXM, BritXbox, MSXbox to name but a few. But that’s enough from us, it’s time we let our users speak for themselves…………… "By running some unique competitions with their vibrant community, XboxGameZone have constantly raised the benchmark in the Xbox gaming community" - Chris Easton, Community Manager, Ubisoft “Everyone who visits this forum will agree with me when I say that this is by far the best and friendliest forum around without a doubt” - Unomikeo “Good work on a rare pleasant forum” - uT Hodge "XgZ is one of the best gaming community's I have been part of. I thoroughly enjoy gamin with all the members here and have to thank all of the team at XGZ for making it possible and all their hard work they have put into it." - Big Jimmy “One word: awesome but really this is one of the best communities I know of and I think all you admin people do a great job” - Shadowsun “The only gaming community I have been a part of, and a great place with a load of characters” - JK UK “This is the best forum on the net, I am a member of quite a few, and this is by far the best. The competitions are great, the topics are great and the people are even better. Love it!!” - Riddick “The most legendary site on the internet. With the vast range of tournaments and competitions on both platforms (Xbox and Xbox 360), the constant news and the great community you can't go wrong. I personally love it because it's where I met a lot of the people on my friends list and where I was united with the WsD lot (is that really a good thing... )” - Lukant 23 |
